Health is so important but so ignored

A friend, Gloria M, had a couple of spells this summer. She ended up in the hospital when she lost consciousness and fell. She hit her head and she ended up going to the hospital to be checked out. The hospital did not find a cause. Gloria went to the chiropractor later and found her back was out of alignment and felt better after treatments. She said that had happened one other time in her life. Gloria is a nurse and she works a mixture of day and night shifts. That is hard on anyone but I worry about Gloria mixing shifts. Have you ever tried working multiple shifts? Sleeping is difficult as your body has trouble adjusting to the change in routine.
Well, months past and we thought she was doing okay but she had another spell this week. Her heart rate was extremely low and they have decided she needs a pacemaker. The doctors are putting it in today. I pray the Lord gives Gloria healing.
I will post a card I made for our pastors' wives later.

Organization...is it a dream?

I often think I use the same stamps over and over because I cannot remember what other stamps I have. I get in a rut. I have decided to do something about it.
I have scanned in all of my CTMH stamp sets and printed out a copy to put in a 3-ring binder. For my stamps from Verve and Papertrey, I printed out the stamp set picture from their website. Papertrey gives tips and has a gallery for most of their stamp sets so I printed those out for my binder, too. When I finish, I hope to be able to easily view my stamp sets without pulling them all out. That should help me use more of my stamps. At least I hope it does! :)
I blogged that I am un-mounting my SU! stamp sets. That is a long process and I am still working on it. I think they will take up so much less space when I am done.
Have a tip on how you have organized your stamps?
Have a good Columbus Day weekend! I hope to visit with all of my siblings this weekend.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month

Hannah and I baked white chocolate macadamia nut cookies last night. Honestly it was not all that hard...we used frozen dough that I buy from Market Day at the grade school. It helps support the school and gives me a shortcut when I am in a pinch for time. They are delicious cookies! Anyway we put 4 cookies in a baggie and put them in these cute Chinese boxes that I got on clearance after Halloween last year.

Recipe:
Ribbon: CTMH Designer Rounds Autumn, PaperTrey Dark Chocolate
CS: Bazzill textured
In: Versamark on the leaves, CTMH Chocolate for the sentiment
Misc: Michael's Chinese boxes
Stamps: CTMH Summer's Wave A1090

Take time to give your pastor(s) a note or a gift so they know that you appreciate them!
May God bless you today,

Shots from Stamp Club this weekend

No, my camera is still not fixed. I have an older camera that I gave the kids when we got our Elixim. It is an Olympus camera that is probably 15 years old but it still works.
We made 2 cards this weekend. I really like them. If I had to pick a favorite, I would be in trouble. Brenda comes up with some great ideas.
Recipe Mountain Scene:
Ink: CTMH Cocoa and Ponderosa Pine
Stamp: CTMH Catch of the Day C1277
Recipe Catch of the Day:
Ink: CTMH Garden Green, Chocolate, Black
Misc: Liquid Glass, sponge
Stamps: Beautiful Things D1298
The catch of the day used a technique featured on SCS by Beate Johns called Retiform. She is really good at techniques.

Casio Elixim camera NOT working

I have a Casio Elixim digital camera. I wanted to photo the 2 cards I made at Stamp Club this weekend. But when I turn on the camera, it says Camera Stabilizer Is Not Found. I am sure that is not good. I Googled it and came up with nothing that would fix it without going to a camera shop. I hope I don't have to buy a new camera. I mean I would love a new camera but I don't want to spend the money. Know what I mean? Well, if I cannot post a card, I will point you to a card I like on another site.
Do you follow Dawn's Stampin Studio website? Dawn Griffith is just the best for cute ideas and she puts them on You Tube which is so helpful for a visual person like myself. Check out her spinner card!

Today is the first day of October. I am amazed at how fast time is moving as I get older. My mom told me time moved faster as you get older and I didn't think too much about it until the last few years. She was right!

Jim is out in Iowa for the funeral of his uncle Don W. Jim drove to his parents house in the Quad cities last night. He met his brother, Steve, there and they drove on this morning to Redfield, IA for the funeral. We decided not to take the kids out of school so I stayed home.

We have beautiful clear skies this morning. It was cold enough last night that we closed all of the windows and even considered starting the boiler to heat the house.
Here is a card that I made using this Michelle Zindorf tutorial called Distant Pines. You can follow the link and see the masterpiece that she created. She makes these fabulous scenes with brayers and I wanted to give it a try. It turned out okay but I would love to take one of her classes to get more instructions.
Well, I have to get busy moving...remember to trust and obey...you know the song don't you!?
